Arrival and departure times

Normal times are as below, but if you would like to arrive or depart outside of these, it's not a problem - just let us know when you book.

  • Arrival - after 4.30pm
  • Departure - before 10.30am

Cancellation/Booking policy

Deposit of £25.00 per room, non refundable for cancellations (unless we are able to re-let the room, in which case there will be an administration charge of £5.00).

Pets

We accept dogs to stay, although they are not allowed in the guests' part of the farmhouse. Instead, they will be kennelled overnight in the downstairs cloakroom, where they will be quite safe and happy.

We do have our own dog, who is very friendly but who is not allowed in any guest areas of the house.

Places to eat and drink

There are several good pubs in the area, although unfortunately our local pub is closed for refurbishment. Other pubs we would recommend are:

  • George & Dragon, Tarvin
  • Grosvenor Arms, Aldford

The Onion Ring is an online restaurant finder for Cheshire and the North West.

Motorbikes and bicycles

We have secure storage for these, and facilities for washing bikes if required. We can also dry your clothes if you experience inclement weather during the day.

Trailers

We have a large yard with plenty of space for turning and parking trailers.

Taxis and buses

We can arrange taxis for you with a good local company. Please remember to give us reasonable notice if you need a taxi.

There is a bus service from Christleton and Waverton into Chester, but there is no bus service running close to the farm.

Chester has a good 'park & ride' scheme. Parking in the city centre is quite expensive and sometimes hard to find, so this makes a good alternative. The closest car parks for this are at Chester Zoo (off the A41) and at Boughton Heath (by the A51 / A55 junction).

Places of worship

The nearest churches are:

  • C of E - St James', Christleton
  • Roman Catholic - St Columba, Hoole

Telecoms

All the mobile networks have good reception at the farm.

We are in the process of installing free broadband for guests.

Emergencies

We hope that your stay at Cotton Farm will be completely trouble-free, but we have details of local doctors, dentists and opticians if you have any problems.
