About Us

Cotton Farm is farmed by us, Clare and Nigel Hill. We first moved here in 1986, and opened the bed and breakfast in 1996. We have enjoyed welcoming guests here ever since.

Cotton Farm is a genuine working farm. We run a flock of around 150 ewes, which means that February is very busy with lambing. Rather more unusually, we also rear geese. Goose for Christmas Day is becoming more popular every year - it's something special, and also a return to more traditional fare. We raise a flock of around 250 geese, starting in late Spring every year.

The farmhouse was in need of extensive renovation when we moved in. After all this time it is very much our family home, and we try to make guests feel part of the family during their stay. But privacy, peace and quiet are still easy to find at Cotton Farm - the Guests' Rooms are spacious and stylish, with large en suite bathrooms. They are oases of calm where you will find time passes very easily. Read more about them here.

When we are not busy farming or looking after our guests, we enjoy a range of interests - among them long-distance motorbike touring.
